We are welcomed by two lab-coated boffins showing some percussion instruments who then decide to share their most edgy experiment. A ‘volunteer’ (also Australian) from the audience comes on to take the pill that will turn him into a musical instrument. And lo and behold, with each wave of an arm, an assortment of music ensues. At first this is entertaining but, as a bit, it goes on too long and young attention spans start to wander before the fourth wall is eventually broken and the kids are invited to get in on the act. Even at 50 minutes, the amount of actual material in the show feels a little stretched, but it’s a neat idea and largely well presented.
