What is truth? Philosophers have posed the question through millennia and no doubt many of the shows in Edinburgh this year will also explore it. In an era of fake news and populist lies the question has become more urgent, so this show has a more specific focus: who is telling the truth? In a darkened room, reminiscent of the Mastermind format, one of our number volunteers to be questioned by interrogators, including us. Some of the questions probe deeply, tempting an untruthful answer (but any question can be declined). Will we be able to tell? Will the polygraph lie-detector? That’s the core of the show and it makes for a slightly uncomfortable but genuinely interesting show.
