Titi Lee: Good Girl Gone Baddie (Father Long Legs)

There is a lot of promise in Titi Lee’s debut hour at the Fringe, but it’s uncertain as to what kind of comedy Lee wants to present. There’s stand up, storytelling, dance pieces, a comedy song about identity – you could call Lee a real renaissance performer. It’s clear that a lot of this show has been lovingly stitched together with Lee’s family at the centre, but like with a beloved family quilt it can be easy to see the seams here. Lee lays themself bare, and in doing so they err on the side of sincerity over punchlines. There are some genuinely touching points here, and Lee’s storytelling is powerful. However, it’s hard to know what will come next.

Just The Tonic At Cabaret Voltaire, until 25 Aug.
