Now, I know that there are lots of you out there who basically live for the musicals, so here are some that we’ve helpfully picked out for you from this year’s programme. I love the sound of this – a solo show “traversing the highway between confessional monologue, stand-up comedy and rock concert” that looks at the aftermath of intimate violence. “After a billion years of bad dates, Earth’s finally found the one… Humanity. But what begins as a passionate love affair between the universe’s most iconic couple quickly descends into a hot mess”. Very intrigued by this one, a comedy romcom that reimagines the climate crisis into a musical story of love and hope. Info and tickets here.

The Uncrackable Case | Pleasance Courtyard | 30 Jul-25 Aug
Another funny one for you now, which is great, because funny stuff is great, and this one sees fairy tale characters teamed with conspiracy theorists and tabloid media. Humpty Dumpty is dead – was he pushed or did he jump? –  and Jill, a filmmaker, is on trial for egg-icide. The Big Bad Wolf is defending her and the trial will grip the nation… Info and tickets here.
