Three Fringe first timers performing at Edinburgh Festival 2023…

I’ve Got Some Things To Get Off My Chest | Gilded Balloon | 2-28 Aug
As you probably know, we always like to pay attention to fresh talent headed to the Festival each year, so it seems fitting to start our Edinburgh tips proceedings by pointing some of it out. This is the debut play from Eva Lily, writer and performer, and it focuses on her experiences of misogyny when attempting to get a breast reduction through the NHS for her 38K chest. Wonder Drug: A Comedy About Cystic Fibrosis | Pleasance Courtyard | 4-28 Aug (pictured)
“Charlie has cystic fibrosis, a condition that causes a build-up of mucus. Lovely. But with a new girlfriend and a Wonder Drug called Kaftrio coming soon, what can stop him now? A rollicking course of intravenous antibiotics set to 80s bangers!” Another edfringe debut, and one that’s already seen a lot of acclaim following performances at London’s Vault Festival and at the King’s Head Theatre. My Last Two Brain Cells | Gilded Balloon Patter Hoose | 2-27 Aug
This one’s another Vault Festival success if I remember correctly, and I suspect lots of people out there are talking about it right now, this minute, as I type this. Meanwhile, you’re probably reading this and wondering what exactly this show is, so I should probably have a stab at telling you what to expect: absurdist comedy from a likely duo, telling the story of what happens when disaster strikes in Gary’s brain.
