COVERING THE EDINBURGH FESTIVAL SINCE 1996
Three Editors’ Award Winners

Three shows by past ThreeWeeks Editors’ Award winners at the Edinburgh Festival 2024…
Millwall Jew/Nineteen Ninety Four | Laughing Horse @ Bar 50/Laughing Horse @ Dragonfly | 1-25 Aug
It’s been a while since we actually awarded any Editors’ Awards, sadly, because they went into hibernation during that pesky lockdown and have yet to return. But there are fifteen glorious years worth of winners and one of those winners – from the last, pre-pandemic batch – who is back at the Festival is the excellent Ivor Dembina. Two shows, one of which is about being a Millwall fan, the other a celebration of his thirty years at the Fringe. Info and tickets here and here.
James Rowland Dies At The End Of The Show | Summerhall | 1-26 Aug
“What would you do with an hour? What if it was your last hour ever? For James the answer is easy: he wants to tell you a story. A story full of laughter and music and joy. A story about living”. This is the third and final part of James Rowland’s Life Cycle Trilogy, which began with ‘Learning To Fly’ and continued with ‘Piece Of Work’. He’s really brilliant, and acclaimed by everyone, not just us. Don’t miss this. Info and tickets here.
Daniel Cainer’s Jewish Chronicles | Underbelly George Square | 31 Jul-26 Aug (pictured)
I believe it’s eleven years since we gave Daniel Cainer one of our awards, but it doesn’t feel like it. And it’s always good to see him back at the Festival. If you’ve not seen one of his shows before, you’ve missed out, so rectify that immediately, especially if you’re a fan of fabulous music and wonderful storytelling that alternates between the hilarious and the heartbreaking. And who wouldn’t be? Info and tickets here.
