If you’re as passionate about football as Ted Milligan, I think you’ll love this show. If, like me, you have no interest in football, there’s still plenty to love. If nothing else, you’ll probably find yourself rooting for a football team that never existed in this one-man mockumentary that tells the story of struggling Crubchester United Football Club. As a plethora of characters, Milligan playfully mocks footballers, football fans and the football business. But really it’s a celebration of sticking with a team that consistently fails, in the hope that one day, maybe, it could happen. Even if “it” isn’t really very much. Which is the one aspect of football fandom I kind of like. And here, Milligan makes it seem all the more charming and very funny.
