Sh!t Theatre: Or What’s Left of Us (Sh!t Theatre And Soho Theatre)

Top Fringe favourites, Sh!t Theatre, are back. And they have found a rich new source for their unique comic style: English folk music. Yes, they are at the folk revival stage of their funny forensic examination of the weirdness of life. So naturally I was expecting a witty deconstruction of the traditional folk scene. I got that, and much more: this show explores why folk music made such an important contribution to past lives and can still do so today. It can tell simply of our loves, lives and losses, helping us by reminding us we are not alone. Sh!t Theatre are hugely talented and bring their own fragility and generous spirit to the stage. One not to miss.

Summerhall, until 25 Aug.
