Despite its name, this company is from the USA, and the show deals with the human aspects of a topic as ‘difficult’ in that country as anywhere in the world: migration. It is wordless but uses mime, movement, masks and puppetry to set out a highly legible account of the obstacles and dangers migrants face. The masks aside, the main props are abstract white squares inventively used to construct successive scenes. A few coloured items, such as clothing, aid continuity and the result is artistically as well as technically highly accomplished. Only occasionally did I feel that I was not quite getting the full narrative import of the imagery in this often beautiful and affecting show.
