This is not a Fringe show (OK there’s no definition); it’s a musical that first appeared in 2005 and then failed to open on Broadway as planned in 2016. So it is unsurprising that it is has nothing new to say. It has strong production values but is very ordinary in each triple attack department. The Steve Jobs or Bill Gates roles are more infantile lampoon than insightful comic caricature, and the female roles are a disgrace. Neither does the show capture the genuine excitement of the pioneering days of the birth of the internet and personal computing. There are some clever and funny lyrics, and the audience loved it, but if you want a Fringe show, go find one.
