Max Fulham: Full Of Ham (Corrie McGuire Management)

Like the puppets, I couldn’t physically breathe, but from laughing so much. Such is the power of an hour of Max Fulham’s infectious personality and light-hearted absurdity, through which he proves that anything could be a puppet, from intrusive thoughts to a slice of ham. The show sadly flew by too quickly, and it kept surprising me, as each segment felt entirely different yet they somehow flowed so well and cohesively into each other, with many call back jokes. The humour consistently landed showing Fulham’s performing skills and comedic range: great quick improv, sight gags, cheesy gags and clever jokes. A show so good it honestly turned me from an unbeliever into a ventriloquist fan.

Pleasance Courtyard, until 25 Aug.
