The perfect way to celebrate Christmas all year round: back with their third show, Recent Cutbacks have returned with a parody of classic festive movie ‘Home Alone’. The stage is packed with props, cameras and lights, though the audience focus is predominantly on the screen as an uncanny puppet show plays out among the chaos. The piece has vast appeal and the humour – predominantly absurd – is aimed at all ages. However, I felt that their previous shows were funnier, and at times this feels like a talent showcase. I understand the reasons for using puppets, but for me, it’s human interactions that create more spark. Still a hugely entertaining and humorous hour though… ya filthy animals!
