Join the ThreeWeeks Edinburgh editorial team – paid roles

By | Published on Monday 17 June 2013

We are recruiting for key roles in our core paid editorial team at Edinburgh Festival 2013…

The Office Manager oversees the administration of ThreeWeeks, manages the volunteer admin team, and coordinates the review team and booking of review tickets. This is a two month contract, with a month based at ThreeWeeks’ London HQ in Shoreditch E1 (from 1-26 Jul, Mon-Fri 10-6pm), and then four weeks based in Edinburgh from 27 Jul – 25 Aug (basically office hours, but with tasks seven days a week once the festival gets under way). Reporting into the Publishers, the Office Manager needs to be a very organised person, IT and web literate and able to navigate a spreadsheet, and able to take the the initiative and manage and motivate a volunteer team. It would suit a London-based person keen to gain experience in an arts and media environment, and with a passion for the Fringe and the ThreeWeeks ethos. Fee: £900 per month, plus accommodation in and travel to and from Edinburgh.

The sub-editors work for ThreeWeeks between 1-24 Aug, processing and subbing reviews submitted by the publication’s volunteer review team, using the magazine’s style guide. Reporting to the Editors, as well as tweaking and reworking reviews ready for publication, the sub-editors also give feedback to the review team, and may liaise with reviewers on rewrites to help participants in the ThreeWeeks media-skills programme improve their work. These are flexible part-time roles that involve 2-3 hours work six days a week during the review period. Although it is beneficial to be Edinburgh-based, the work can be done remotely and non-Edinburgh based candidates are welcome to apply. The fee for this part time role is £450.
