Adam Lenson has nothing to apologise for when it comes to this solo show about saying sorry. Woven out of his own experiences, conflicts and regrets, it explores apologies: ranging from heartfelt and sincere, to “sorry-not-sorry, and everything in between. We learn of mistakes he has made, and the mistakes of others, from which – lacking an apology – he struggles to move on. At times the series of scenes can be a little messy, but that’s ironically appropriate, given how messy life, and apologies, can be. Underneath, a sophisticated structure ties the disparate stories together with skill. Heartfelt, honest, unflinching: it’s rare to leave a show with such a profound sense of understanding the performer.
