As the co-hosts explain the format, it occurs to me that it’s years since I’ve seen some short-form improv comedy at the Fringe, which is an oversight on my part for which I can only apologise. To myself, obviously. If you’re currently apologising to yourself for not indulging in what should be part of everyone’s Fringe comedy experience and are now looking for an improv show to see, this is a very good place to start. The format is familiar, as are most of the improv games that the ‘frogs’ play, but the scenes crafted on stage, and the performances within them, are consistently good and very funny. There are several music rounds, which makes sense, given the whole show is expertly soundtracked by an improviser on the piano, and there’s some very good singing voices in the group too.
