From the moment you enter the performance space there’s a palpable energy in the room. Clearly Wright & Grainger love what they do, and that joy and passion bleeds through every part of the show. Like the minotaur that lies at the heart of the labyrinth, and Theseus’ story, the show is a hybrid: theatre, storytelling and gig combine into something else, something new, something special. Music, lyrics and spoken words conjure up the classical tale, but with an added air of empathy, of humanity. Removing the polished bronze armour of their hero, they expose the fragile, beating heart within. A joyful assault on the senses, there is something almost spiritual in their fusion of arts. Can’t wait for part two!
