This is a deeply emotional poignant piece of theatre, an hour-long deep monologue delivered mainly on a simple black chair. It’s a tale dealing with themes of abortion and cancer as we follow our central character as she embarks on a school reunion. Using minimal lighting, sound and production, Edith Alibec lures the audience in with stellar acting, hypnotising the audience with her words. The piece contains dark humour, though it barely landed, and furthermore, the story could be difficult to follow because of incredibly abrupt scenes and topic changes, whilst some tough subject matters felt under-explored. A good show, however, especially those who love something a little dark, but also touching.
