Gareth Mutch has only recently heard of an airing cupboard. He’s still not sure what it is. Mutch’s hour concerns turning 30 and discovering an article on the top 50 things that make a modern man, then realising he barely even understands four of them. He is an endearing comic with a comfortable, easy way about him and his set is full of personal but relatable anecdotes. The highlight is a hilarious section about the contrast between what we do when falling in love and the same behaviour as a married person. ‘Modern Man’ is an enjoyable hour, where Mutch explores what other people deem to be his failings, while realising that he’s pretty happy with them.
