Fractured (Shona Graham / BJA Productions)

A sombre piece for fans of darker drama pieces. Eva has been in a car crash and is struggling to process the events that occurred, but how much truth is she prepared to face? A talented four-person cast led by Shona Graham offer an emotional performance that engrosses the audience, and direction from Sally Wood is slick as we follow this non-linear story capturing the inner turmoil Eva is experiencing. However, as characters clash, the convoluted timeline means that time periods become difficult to track. Furthermore, it’s an ambitious show that features a variety of tech but it sadly feels underutilised, especially the projections and lighting. A thoughtful drama; however, the cracks are hard to ignore.

Underbelly Cowgate, until 30 Aug.
