End To End (The Gramophones Theatre Company / PBH’s Free Fringe)

By | Published on Friday 24 August 2012

This show offers an injection of optimism; The autobiographical story of three women setting out to travel across Britain, it’s a light hearted celebration of travel and adventure, and the striking thing is just how honest it is. The performance starts with a promise not to exaggerate, and they don’t; the three have different personalities, but they aren’t forced into stereotypes; they tell funny stories, but they’re believable. It’s also very, very sincere; when they speak about how the journey affected them, they do it seriously. In a way, it’s shame that the venue doesn’t allow in customers under 18, since with its wide appeal, creative props and energetic storytelling, ‘End to End’ would make pretty good theatre for kids too.

Bannermans, 12-25 Aug, 1.45pm.
