Eddy Hare: This One’s On Me (Georgia House Productions)

Eddy Hare is going bald and frets about whether the drugs he’s taking to cure it are really working. Some early crowd work highlights his likeability and easy way with his audience, but the show hangs on comparing being an uncle to being a father, which isn’t a strong enough premise to warrant the time devoted to it. But that’s not to say Hare can’t find a few laughs from the device. His songs are melodic and funny, particularly the closing tune, which skilfully calls back several gags. While it’s more of a threaded-together collection of club sets than a themed show, it does have heart, and Hare is a charming performer with surely a promising future.

Pleasance Courtyard, until 25 Aug.
