Iron Crack (Electric Impact)
By Raphael Highgate-Betts | Published on Sunday 31 August 2014
Iron Crack is the debut show from Electric Impact and explores the theme of working on the stock market. Following five individuals at various stages of their career ladder, the play moves the audience back and forth between a series of rooms, depicting offices, toilets and clubs. As you are standing throughout, you get a great sense of inclusion, even if it is a bit crowded, and the passion and commitment from the cast is palpable, contributing to a wholly believable experience; though this enthusiasm does occasionally lead, it seems, to the odd stutter and jumble of lines. There are some hard hitting scenes and strong performances, and although the subject matter isn’t especially original, the format is undeniably effective.
C nova, until 16 Aug.
