Backwards Anorak – Winter is Coming

Strictly speaking, you don’t have to be a fan of ‘Game Of Thrones’ and the fantasy genre at large to enjoy this show, but it definitely helps. This Australian five piece have put together a high energy, hilarious musical spectacle that relies on the rare but incredibly pleasing blurred line between insanity and genius. In the hands of a less charismatic and talented group, this concept could fall completely flat, and it’s a testament to their abilities that it does anything but. Obviously, the performance relies on a certain degree of knowledge about happenings in Westeros but even casual fans of George RR Martin’s bloody tales will find things to enjoy in this hilariously unique comedy / dance / musical / parody / exploration of all things ‘Thrones’.
