Emily Brown And The Thing (Tall Stories)
By Gemma Scott | Published on Sunday 31 August 2014
Emily Brown can’t sleep. The Thing is keeping her awake, and she has to go on a series of adventures with her toy rabbit to fetch the things he’s lost. This beautifully crafted three-hander uses music and puppetry to tell Cressida Cowell’s much loved tale. There are some beautiful moments- actors holding puppet versions of themselves to slide down scarf-mountains, and the set design adds a real sense of wonder. Tall Stories have a reputation for creating wonderful children’s theatre every year, and 2014’s offering is no exception.
Pleasance Courtyard, until 24 Aug.
