TalkFest 2013 The Body Politic (Playwrights’ Studio Scotland And Made In Scotland)
By Rory Morgan | Published on Wednesday 21 August 2013
Delving into the social politics that surround and come with our bodies, this interactive panel made up of influential playwrights at this year’s Fringe delivered an interesting discussion. The event was well chaired by Jo Clifford, an individual with a wealth of personal experience in the subject matter. However it is fair to say the talk would have benefited from a more specified focus. The politics that come with the human body was proven to be a subject matter far too broad to grasp in one and half hours and this led to a significant lack of a focal point to the entire event. Perhaps settling on the subject of gender or disability (two recurring talking points) would have made this a more cohesive talk.
Traverse Theatre, until 12 Aug, 1.00pm.
