Science, Love And Revolution (PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Stephen Maughan | Published on Saturday 10 August 2013
Spoken word veteran David Lee Morgan’s latest show ‘Science, Love and Revolution’, is likely to appeal to those interested in revolutionary politics. During an hour of poetry performed to music, he reflects on social and political changes with material that is occasionally refreshing, but for the most part distant and with an academic focus. At times, the lyrics were powerful, but undermined by the long-winded and often unclear attempts to explain the meaning behind the poetry. However, despite seemingly inappropriate music, an enthusiastic audience was not deterred. Not a show to set the world on fire, but those with a passion for left wing thought could be gently entertained.
The Banshee Labyrinth, until Aug 24 (not 11, 18) 12.30pm.
