Malt Whisky Demonstration For Beginners (Bennets Bar)
By Jasmine Faller | Published on Saturday 31 August 2013
This ‘Malt Whisky Demonstration For Beginners’ is advertised as being a ‘demonstration on Scottish Malt Whiskies’, where it ought to read ‘demonstration of three Glenfiddich Whiskies’. Which is fine; the speaker is informative and knowledgeable and takes you through the Glenfiddich whisky making process and explains why Glenfiddich is different and better than other whiskies before a sample is poured and the tasting begins. The process of smelling and distinguishing flavours in the Malts is rigorously tackled, a process which you can of course use when drinking other Whiskies in your own time. A useful if limited demonstration, with the helpful addition of some tasty Scottish spirits…
Bennets Bar, until 22 Aug, 3.00pm.
