Adventures Of Andy Kershaw (Andy Kershaw)
By Elizabeth Jewell | Published on Friday 30 August 2013
Andy Kershaw is one of the UK’s most decorated broadcasters and has recently released the autobiography ‘No Off Switch’, which has been 22 years in the making. After evading publishers for that time, he’s finally ready to tell his life story, and what a story that is: from presenting ‘Whistle Test’ and ‘Live Aid’, working with John Walters and John Peel at Radio 1, to his later years as a foreign correspondent in Haiti, Rwanda, Kuwait and North Korea in the 1990s and later. Kershaw is a natural storyteller, and fine public speaker, and told stories of his youth and professional life with ease and modesty. Unfortunately, he ran long, and Kershaw didn’t allow enough time to discuss the foreign adventures of more recent years, giving an unsatisfactory end to the tale.
