ED2013 3/5 Reviews ED2013 Art Reviews
Wildlife, Landscape And Townscapes (Ed Fielding)
By Michael Black | Published on Tuesday 20 August 2013
Photographer Ed Fielding’s work demonstrates considerable skill, especially in his ability to catch birds and animals in somewhat off-guard and natural positions. His other subject is Edinburgh, and here he shows an excellent and wide selection of locations. Yet despite the beauty of the photos, things are closer to kitsch than art, and subjects are rather hackneyed. Everything on display can be bought as either a handmade card, a mounted print or a fully framed picture, and whilst this is an ideal place for a tasteful souvenir of your Fringe holiday, the material on display is unlikely to break any new artistic ground.
Gladstone’s Land, until 11 Aug, 10.00am – 7.00pm.
