Artists’ Open Studios And Exhibitions (Coburg House Art Studios)
By Tom Bateman | Published on Saturday 10 August 2013
I wish I could have spent an entire day at Coburg House. With an incredible variety of work on show, from jewellers to ceramicists, painters, sign writers and even a kilt-maker, there would certainly have been enough to look at. However, the real treat was being able to see the artists’ work spaces; to see the books they read, the pictures that influence them, the notes left to themselves, and the photos of their cats. This is a truly personal, heart-warming and informative experience, far removed from the unwelcoming sterility of typical art galleries. But having missed it this year, fear not; you can pop in next summer, or at their open weekend in December.
Coburg House Art Studios, until 4 Aug, 11.00am.
