The Babysitter (In Depth)
By Iris Ordean | Published on Saturday 17 August 2013
Masterfully portrayed by the young members of the In Depth team, ‘The Babysitter’ brilliantly sketches a classically upper-middle class family whose alienation transpires when Aaron is employed to look after their youngest daughter Ri (played by Thissy Gunersakara). Based on Breman Rajkumar’s script, the family drama unfolds as their living room becomes in the course of an evening the scene of a juicy exchange of clever lines, power games and the disclosure of a surprisingly strong bond. The dynamic between the actors is astonishingly well illustrated and one cannot fail in being completely and utterly drawn into the plot. The winner of multiple awards, this witty and powerful play will definitely brighten your day. Well done, guys!
Pleasance Courtyard, until 25 Aug (not 12), 2.00pm.
