Shakespeare For Breakfast (C Theatre)

By | Published on Saturday 3 August 2013

‘Shakespeare for Breakfast’ arguably faces a problem. Interesting a bleary-eyed early morning Fringe audience, many of whom were young children, in a play in Shakespearean language, may appear a difficult task. Not so for C theatre, who, with consummate professionalism, engage and amuse audience members of all ages. The well worn concept of providing food, coffee and a Shakespearian play set in modern times remains a winning combination and the comedic interpretation of the ‘Taming of the Shrew’ delighted all present. Reinterpreting the traditional characters as stereotyped members of the Royal Family produced moments of hilarity and brought the more archaic focuses of the script into sharp relief. Slick, humorous and thoroughly entertaining, this show is well worth getting out of bed for.

C, until 26 Aug (not 12) 10.00am.
