Relationshit (Richard Burton Theatre Company)
By Holly Sharp | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
Hideous breakups, we’ve all had ‘em; ‘Relationshit’ is a witty, biting selection of post-mortems of relationships past. Included is a candid, refreshingly normal account of a lesbian couple, and a less innovative but similarly engaging account of an infatuated posh-boy who receives an excruciating dressing down from his ex-girlfriend. The show however, is clearly a work in progress, and running at 30 minutes, feels more like a scratch piece than a finished product. The performance is yet to entirely find its feet and cement a consistent style or ‘feel’. Hazy scene merging and a lack in overall texture and variation are entirely curable niggles of this brief but promising performance. Great content, great potential, probably not the last you’ll hear from this company.
Venue 13, until 17 Aug (not 12), 11.45am.
