ED2013 3/5 Reviews ED2013 Theatre Reviews
Popaganda (Escalator East to Edinburgh)

Richard DeDominici delivers a moderately funny series of videos and songs with anecdotes to match. His collection of silly games, fake songs and bad gags keep you chuckling, applauding and cringing. The laid-back delivery suits his satirical position as an artist seconds ahead of his time, pulling seemingly pointless pranks only for their punchlines to be realised shortly afterwards. Deliberate mediocrity appears to be the joke; this works well for his satirical content but the delivery of his other observations is affected. When he delves into more controversial commentary the laughter comes hard and fast. While at times it felt like a series of funny videos with commentary, his engaging performance was a good way to spend an hour.
Pleasance Hunt and Darton Cafe, until 25 Aug, (not 12, 19) 9.00pm.
