ED2013 4/5 Reviews ED2013 Theatre Reviews
One Last Thing (Whispers and Shouts)
By Christopher Spring | Published on Friday 16 August 2013
This intensely meaningful spoken word/theatre hybrid takes the audience into the lives of several different characters, during one night in Bristol. A melancholic piece, which presents us with scenes from a wide range of lives, it’s written by Vanessa Kisuule, who proves a master of linguistic imagery and emotions. She gives voice to the thoughts and feelings one would usually try to forget, fight or repress. These range from the murderous to the humorous, the childish to the surreal, always expertly presented by a recently graduated cast, displaying a maturity far beyond their years. Sure to delight lovers of language and theatre alike, it will leave you reeling, emotionally drained and completely satisfied.
Sweet Grassmarket, until 18 Aug, 1.00pm.
