Prompted by the death of his neighbour, Ivan Hansen begins a nostalgia trip back through his childhood, tracing the many moments in his life that have shaped him as a person. The two master storytellers weave together physical theatre, huge numbers of props and an infectious energy to create an incredibly compelling production. There are constant diversions in the tale, which feels a little like an excuse to cram as many stage tricks in as possible, but it’s worth it for the one-man battle scene, and the wonderful characterisation of the personalities we meet along the way. The incredible warmth of the performance makes it a joy to watch. And be sure to stay for the drink at the end.
