ED2013 4/5 Reviews ED2013 Theatre Reviews
Long Road Home (Saltmine Theatre Company)
By Christie Rolley | Published on Friday 30 August 2013
In an innovatively crafted junkyard, two lovable slapstick characters have an argument about which ninja stole a much beloved sandwich. Bert and Horace, a comedic duo who received raucous laughter from the audience, find a boy in the midst of the rubbish and the three act out a number of adventures. The physical comedy of the duo, coupled with an array of interesting physical manifestations of the story, means this piece remains an interesting spectacle. In a space with better acoustics some of the vocal creations may have been slightly clearer, though this didn’t mar the overall impression of the show. Charming and enjoyable entertainment for all the family, ‘Long Road Home’ is well worth a watch.
Central Hall, until 13 Aug, Palmerston Place Church until 17 Aug, 2.00pm.
