ED2013 2/5 Reviews ED2013 Theatre Reviews
Kaffa! (Porcelain Cat Theatre Company)
By Imogen Calderwood | Published on Tuesday 27 August 2013
Through the observation of coffee-shop customers, four actors explore our obsession with technology, and question how far this could go. It’s a great and very relevant concept, and the cast cope well with the huge number of roles they play throughout the show. With the sheer quantity of parts, however, characterisation does have a tendency to slip into the stereotypical. And the whole show is a bit rough around the edges; the movement sequences could do with sharpening up and the narrative needs a stronger core to support all the secondary scenes going on around it. A strong concept that with a bit more work stands to become a far better show.
