Bad Boy Eddie (Kajaani Town Theatre)
By Otamere Guobadia | Published on Saturday 10 August 2013
Delightfully eccentric yet grippingly emotional, the dynamic cast of ‘Bad Boy Eddie’ take quite a long time to gain momentum, but once they do, you’re undoubtedly drawn in. They display a beautiful versatility, with each cast member reprising a seemingly infinite number of characters. This cleverly staged production about a neglected child is threateningly realistic, a look at real human failings. The nickname “Bad Boy Eddie” feel almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy, as he comes to blame himself for his family’s destruction. You get the sense that Eddie is hurtling towards redemption or annihilation, but you’re content to led the cast lead you there at their own pace. A play well worth seeing.
