A Laughing Matter (Hush Theatre Company)

By | Published on Tuesday 20 August 2013

With their ‘silky smooth moves’, surprisingly expressive eyebrows and props that keep getting crazier, Hush’s comic double act ensures you won’t be staying silent. Black and white short films clips, suits and Jazz music give it a classic, old-time feel. As a comedy it’s not exactly side-splitting, but it is full of delightful silliness. However, the sudden ending took me by surprise. I even queried with the venue staff; surely there must be more? No, that really was the end. Even so, Hush Theatre Company’s aim to create a show for both deaf and hearing audiences is commendable. Great if you’re looking for something a little different; and particularly recommend to families with young or non-English speaking children visiting Edinburgh.
