ED2013 4/5 Reviews ED2013 Dance & Physical Theatre Reviews
Mr R (Body Expression Dance Theatre)
By Lyndsay Snoddon | Published on Monday 26 August 2013
‘Mr R’ is a very innovative and creative piece of physical theatre – dancers combined with fantastic projection, interesting lighting and enticing illusions. It’s very energetic, with clever choreography and a very talented cast from Body Expression Dance Theare. Directed and choreographed by Ming-Cheng Lee, it’s most suited to those with an interest in visual effects – for forty minutes you are transported to a digital world, like a cast member from ‘The Matrix’. All the illusions are mind-blowing and the piece itself feels transparent – there are no complexities or confusing elements, just straightforward entertainment. The combination of dance and lighting effects works brilliantly and is sure to leave you in awe.
