Be Captivated (Ballet Central)
By Jasmine Faller | Published on Saturday 10 August 2013
Ballet Central – they of the 2012 Olympics – present a selection of works spanning from the modern to the classical, the amusing to the heartfelt, all of which have this audience applauding with gusto. They begin with an unfortunately jumbled collection of dances – at some points many of the dancers fell out of time with one another. However, the projection of the word ‘anon.’ onto the backdrop heralds a marked change in their talent and timing. Here the young dancers flourish in a piece by Christopher Marney. Charming and elegantly choreographed, this last is a ballet to rival the classics. A definite must for ballet lovers interested in seeing the new generation of dancers.
New Town Theatre, until 12 Aug, 8.05pm.
