The Rat Pack – Live (Louis Hartshorn and Brian Hook in association with C)
By Victoria Beardwood | Published on Sunday 18 August 2013
I challenge you not to enjoy ‘The Rat Pack – Live’, an evening full of velvet-voiced crooners singing the old swing classics and doing justice to the mischievous banter that’s so associated with the original group. Whether you’re a hardcore Rat Pack fan, or you’ve never heard of them before, all will adore this fantastic show. The live jazz band played toe-tapping melodies, whilst Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Frank Sinatra, backed up by the Berelli Sisters, sang everything from ‘Mr. Bojangles’, to ‘Mack the Knife’, to ‘New York, New York’, with infinite amounts of cool. Particularly impressive was the suave Sinatra, whose voice sent shivers down my spine. Go along and see – it’ll be a blast, baby.
C, until 26 Aug (not 13), 7.20pm.
