Lior (Lior)
By Melissa Steel | Published on Saturday 10 August 2013
Imagining a dressed-down Michael Bublé strumming on a guitar will give you some idea of Lior’s vibe. Already an award-winning musician in Australia, his decision to bring his smooth voice across the waves to the UK was certainly a good one – the charming Lior will win a new audience over with talent and humour; a disarmingly down-to-earth performer, he casually chats to the audience between hits and even sits on the edge of the stage for an informal sing-song. A mix of original material (old and new) and covers of iconic tunes, this low-key set is an event fans of folksy singer-songwriters probably won’t want to pass up, but an experience that might leave others cold.
Assembly Checkpoint, until 18 Aug (not 7, 12), 6.15pm.
