Drum Struck (Drum Cafe, Drumstruck CC and Assembly)
By Alice Taylor | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
Exhilarating, enchanting and engaging, this is a very special show indeed. With an African drum on each seat you are drawn into both a music lesson and a visual spectacle. The cast are incredibly energetic and passionate about their heritage, and so they should be, for it’s truly fantastic! This enthusiasm does more though; it infects the audience with a desire to learn and experience the joy for themselves, resulting in a truly delightful hour. The Ubuntu Queen is a complete sweetheart, capturing the hearts of children and adults alike, and driving them to save her when her drum is broken. ‘Drum Struck’ is a display of boundless energy and incredible talent.
Assembly Hall, until 26 Aug (not 12), 6.00pm.
