Victor Brainchild And Mystic Maud Explain Everything (PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Ian Freeman | Published on Tuesday 13 August 2013
If a talking frog pulling a flying dog ridden by a small screaming lady sounds like your idea of fun, then this is the show for you. In an hour of manic weirdness, Victor Brainchild and Mystic Maud call upon the audience to sing along to a fictional 80s hit song, wave their hands in the air and dance on their kidneys, amongst other utterly surreal requests. The show does flag a little towards the end as the strangeness overtakes the humour, leaving the majority of the audience wearing confused expressions. This, however, can be somewhat excused after a pleasurable melodic opener and a wide variety of generally successful sketches that induced spasms of laughter.
The Banshee Labyrinth, until 24 Aug (not 12, 19 Aug), 7.15 pm.
