Surname And Surname (Ditto Productions / Free Festival)

‘Surname and Surname’ is a collection of satirical sketches performed by Briony Redman and Paul Foxcroft. I belly-laughed through the duo’s acting spoofs – they created different scenarios and demonstrated how they would be performed in British, American and Scandinavian theatre. Foxcroft’s Jeremy Paxman impression was absolutely spot-on! However, this may not be the show for you if you’re not a huge fan of physical contact with strangers. The audience were instructed to hold hands (for an unnecessary prolonged period of time). I could sense the discomfort in the poor guy next to me, with the look of a boyfriend just caught cheating, as he held both my hand and his girlfriend’s. Joking aside, this was a talented double-act and a well-rounded performance.
Laughing Horse @ The Counting House, until 25 Aug (not 13), 12.00pm.
