Rob Lloyd – Who, Me (Vicious Fish Theatre)
By Rebecca Lunn | Published on Thursday 15 August 2013
Doctor who? Although this act is aimed at die-hard Whovians, few in the audience kept a straight face. Needing no props, Rob takes on the characters of a courtroom and puts Doctor Who on trial, leaving the audience to act as jurors. Some jokes do slip past even the most dedicated fans, but generally Lloyd’s act contains plenty of in-jokes for the cult followers, more for watchers of the reboot and many an entertaining anecdote about growing up geekish for everyone else. Although there are very few moments when the entire audience collectively understands what’s just been said, the show is so fast-paced that barely a second later, another gag will turn up.
Just the Tonic at Bristo Square, until 25 Aug (not 13), 1.25pm.
