Richard Herring’s Edinburgh Fringe Podcast (Richard Herring / The Stand Comedy Club)
By Elizabeth Jewell | Published on Thursday 8 August 2013
Every day, you can join long running Fringe-favourite Richard Herring and friends via podcast, or in three-dimensional real life at The Stand. There are guests, jokes, prizes and Saturday’s show had Christian Reilly in for a song or two. Herring acts as compère and ringleader, with a throng of Emergency Questions in case improvised conversation ever runs dry. So, would you rather be a cow or a badger? Give it some thought. But conversation never wavers, with special guest Norman Lovett – star of ‘Red Dwarf’ and ‘The Young Ones’ – providing chitchat and jokes. Did you know he supported The Clash in Derby way back when? Gentle, witty conversation as opposed to too much pomp and showiness, making it perfect afternoon watching or listening.
The Stand Comedy Club, until 26 Aug (not 12), 2.10pm.
