Phillip And Marjorie’s Marriage Preparation Course For Regular People And The Gays (Free Fringe)
By Shiv Das | Published on Wednesday 14 August 2013
Welcome to the school of Comedy; and today, class, we’ll be undergoing an intensive marriage preparation course. Delivered by a happily married couple with an excellent rapport, as you’d expect (and indeed hope for) from such a long term relationship. Phillip is the socially awkward one, whilst Marjorie is more poised and composed. The show is aided with a comic slideshow, taking in everything from finance to sex, and introduced by the ludicrous sounding blow organ. It is unnecessarily cringeworthy at times, such as when audience members are encouraged to kiss each other, and the show won’t amuse those searching for intellectual humour. But if you’re happy to leave your brain at home, it’s just the ticket.
The Dram House, until 24 Aug (not 7, 11, 14, 21), 2.30pm.
